A PhD Fellowship is being offered to work in Deep Quantum Lab – lead by Prof Jacob Biamonte at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. It is anticipated that the candidate will defend in either VAK 01.04.02 Theoretical Physics or 01.01.03 Mathematical Physics. Applications are now open. Experience in quantum theory/computing is not required. Students who have completed or are nearing completion of a masters degree with backgrounds in an area of mathematical sciences with interest in quantum computing are encouraged to apply. Planned research projects are along the lines of the topics described on DeepQuantum.AI – these topics include Quantum Enhanced Algorithms for Machine Learning Tensor Networks Hamiltonian Complexity The PhD[…]
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in the theory of modern quantum algorithms. The position will be held at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), Moscow, Russia. The start date is flexible but we would like to fill these position(s) as soon as possible. The successful applicant will work in the research laboratory structure led by Prof Jacob Biamonte in the general area of quantum computation, with a focus on quantum enhanced algorithms and error mitigation on experimental devices. The overarching project goals include: Develop, optimize, and benchmark variational quantum algorithms (e.g. QAOA and VQE) Implement quantum information processing tasks using trapped ions and optical networks available[…]
Tensor networks gave rise to efficiently compact representations for certain classes of quantum states, and provide a graphical language to reason about quantum processes.
The methods reach outside of physics to large areas of computer science and even more recently have found applications in complex networks. […]
